Day 16 Eat Clean Train Dirty

I try to start every day with a motivational quote or something positive, but today since the weather was something other then dry, people decide to drive like they have never driven before. Some of you my friends, should NOT have a drivers license.

.. my jeans size 7 (YES……I’m telling you my ass is HUGE.. ok and I’m a lil chunky) but they fit…. yeah.. but my size 8’s from YESTERDAY  didn’t and PISSED me off.. oh alright.

Speaking of training…. I don’t know if I should keep doing legs 2x a week lol.. but I’ll stick with it for now.. CAN’T FUCKING WAIT. Leg day hurts like a bitch, but it’s so worth it.

Exercises you SHOULDN’T do.


Lat Pull-down Behind the Head

The problem: Only people with very mobile shoulder joints can keep their spines straight enough to do this exercise properly. So the move — done wrong — can lead to shoulder impingement or worse, a tear in the rotator cuff. And if the bar hits the back of the neck, it could injure cervical vertebrae.

Upright Row

The problem: Pulling weights, a barbell, or a weighted cabled bar up under your chin is a big no-no because it can compress the nerves in the shoulder area, impinging the shoulder.

Leg Press with Poor Knee Position

From a reclining position, you push the plate up and bring it down in this common exercise to work the quadriceps, hamstrings, and glutes. The problem comes when you bend your legs too far — past a 90-degree angle — which can hurt your back and knees.

Squats on the Smith Machine

The problem: The bar on the machine doesn’t give, which can force the body into risky positions. Plus, people tend to put their feet farther in front of their bodies when doing squats on the machine, which makes matters worse.

Bad Form on Cardio Machines

The problem: Hunching over or using a death-grip on the handrail cheats your body and can throw off your alignment, jarring your spine, shoulders, and elbows.

Always Lifting with a Weight Belt

The problem: Too many people wear weight belts too often. Unless you have a back injury or other medical reason — or are lifting a lot of weight — the weight belt may let your core muscles slack off. And you need your core muscles all the time in everyday life.

The solution: Back off the weight belt unless it’s necessary.

Exercising in the Wrong Shoes

Even if you’re doing everything else right, your efforts can be undermined by improper footwear. Working out with the wrong shoes increases pounding on the joints, and can lead to injuries like plantar fasciitis or tendonitis.

Oh man. I am going to have to figure out a new way to do squats AND upright row.. 2 of my fave exercises. Seriously? I am going to have to do more research.  Speaking of research my test study guide is sure as SHIT not on blackboard like he says it is. WTF and my test is tomorrow. Even though I’m 50% sure I’ll be fine lol (I have tonight!)

MY LARA BARS CAME IN!!!

I’m excited because I get to try a new one every day (I already ate the PB one- AH MAZING) but I really am nervous, they taste so good and I was craving one after I JUST HAD ONE!…  but I think I’ll be okay. Even if I did have another one I’m doing legs today and I barely ate (BAD DO NOT TAKE AFTER ME!)…  Can’t wait to make a s hake when I get home.  But so far so good (knock on wood), I haven’t really had any cravings.

I love the fact that a light switch finally turned on after all this time and I am finally myself again. I do know that I couldn’t do it with out the big man upstairs. I have gotten extremely closer to him the last few years and this year I seem to have found peace, and let me tell you, it is an amazing feeling.

It’s 545pm Taking Marley out and then making food. I am so hungry its not even funny. relaxing a bit then hitting legs hard today. I’m going to focus on squats and lunges today, end with leg extensions and obviously can’t forget calves.

Sorry today was boring. I have to finish up studying so I have no recipe to make or news to share. I do want to do a before and afters sometimes soon. I will have to collect my pics from last years comp and put them side to side. Progress pics are always fun to look at except when you look in the mirror after seeing your abs once look like this:

Post NPC Bikini Comp (literally day after). Usually people will either be “veiny” or bloated because of what you “normally” do after a show (BINGE LIKE A CRAZY BIOTCH!) but I actually only had a gatorade I believe. I just stayed up so late and didn’t have a chance to eat. However.. its GREAT motivation because I knew what it took to get there and I am SO much better this time around.

Big reason why? I am single.

No joke.

BUT! I think I am going to save that for a different blog. Being in a relationship and taking up competing can be a very DRAINING thing for relationships. Ive actually heard a lot of stories with loved ones upset with the other regarding training and I find it bullshit. The reasons my exes used were pathetic and I think people should do what they want, otherwise you’re giving yourself away. I strongly believe that, especially regarding weight/fitness. SO DO WHAT WILL MAKE YOU HAPPY IN THE END.  There is NO reason you should give up your goals/dreams/ambitions for ANYONE.

HOLY BALLS! LEG WORKOUT WAS OFF THE HOOK!!!!

Walked into the gym (HAMMIES STILL BURNING BTW), saw both smith machines were occupied so I opted for the LEG PRESS. and HOLY SHIT.

Warm up set was 3 x15 at 90lbs then

1×12 140lbs

1×12 180lbs

1×10 230lbs

1×8 270lbs !!!!!!!

270lbs FUCK YES! 

Honestly, I was so proud of myself. I could of done more reps or weight but a dude asked me how long I had left and I felt bad because I was taking longer.. I SHOULDN’T FEEL BAD RIGHT?!?! lol.. but yea.. at first I started with only 30 second breaks in between, then I moved to a minute, then the heavier I got the more time I needed but the sweat was dripping!

I laid low with the calf raise 45lbs with 2×10, Just to catch my breath.

Off to lunges with 40lbs (20lb DB in each hand).

3x 25 

1x bw (body weight).

I honestly was SHAKING.. I finished it off with Leg ext (another fave).

I did 12, 10, 8, 6, 4 starting from 65lbs and went up to 125lbs.

And then I left. And had to wait a little bit before I started driving. It was awesome.

Had a myofusion pb2 protein shake.

Here I am now at 10:45pm.

And here is a sexy girl, because I have to go to “study” and go to sleep now. 😉

Day 15 F A T

Dilemma so far?

So my mom and I went to the mall yesterday and I got 3 pairs of jeans, ALL different sizes. I COULDN’T EVEN FUCKING FIT INTO THE BIGGEST FUCKING SIZE.

so.. just imagine my fucking morning. I no joke blame it on my ass. Here is a recent pic of this nonstop growing ass of mine:

and NO these were not photoshopped, even though I was browsing my blog and they FER SURE looked photoshopped. But they are NOT. I pinky promise.

BUT today I start cardio so that’s something to look forward too (not technically but you know lol).

On my mood:

I am not really depressed, or feeling THAT down, but it sucks. I actually want to say that whenever I felt fat, or unattractive I would binge (weird right, because binge’ing is going to make me soooo much skinnier..LOL).. but I didn’t even think to cheat, even when my mom randomly and coincidentally asked “so how do your pants fit marissa?”  great mom, just great.

I couldn’t even answer her.

So this is what I am struggling with today. I feel fine, and actually I feel really pretty.

Until I feel/notice my muffin top.

830am Had my Myofusion and PB2 protein shake.

10am I’m going to snack in an hour or so. My stomach is getting pretty hungry but I need to go to Whole Foods to get a chicken breast. I don’t think I have enough food for today because I wanted to get the fuck out of the house because I was going to get bitchy. I’m just focusing today, knowing it will be a good day.

1130am Went to Whole Foods in Chicago and it was A W E S O M E. IT WAS HUGE! I ate 2 pieces of honey flank steak and got a piece of turkey that has spinach provolone and tomatoes in it. Pretty excited about that;) lol. It was nice to get out of the office for 2 hours =D

Looks A LOT better then it tasted (AND it was like $6)

As for the gym later tonight (730pm), I am going to do back instead of legs, because my legs are KILLING me still. Training schedule for this week:

  • Monday: Back
  • Tuesday: Legs
  • Wednesday: OFF (for now)
  • Thursday: Shoulders/chest
  • Friday: Legs w/ calves
  • Saturday: Arms
  • Sunday: Cardio/Plyo.
 So I got home pretty fast today (530pm), walked Marley and baked some sweet potato fries. THESE WERE NOT ALL NATURAL.. they said they were but they had quite a bit of ingredients, so I will eat the rest of the bag (THEY ARE DELICIOUS) and be done with them. I think for lent wednesday I will give up soda.. Remember I was going to today, but I remembered ash wednesday or whatever is coming up. I CAN DO IT!!!!!!. Officially 1 month and 2 weeks since I quit smoking. HELL YES!
700pm Finish eating 3oz sweet potato and some meatloaf, waited 45min and headed to the gym.
Oh I did have 2 “sugar cookies”. LOL.
I got to the gym at 820pm and hit:
Assisted pull ups for 5 sets.
Row for 4 sets
Back Ext 3-4 sets (I forgot)
Lat pulldown 4 sets
A different row set up 2 sets
Treadmill 20 min level 10-12 Speed 2.5-3.1
Finally added cardio.. :(:( and super pissed there were no stair masters. I SAID CARDIO SHOULD ONLY BE THE STAIRMASTER (in my case) and they weren’t getting off anytime soon. There were only 2 because the 3 was broken. Pieces of shit. ugh. but whatever.. In about 2 months ill be going from 20 min of cardio to 2 hours of cardio lol. CANT WAIT
930pm I had a protein shake (myofusion and pb2 again) for after the workout.
10pm Studying for 30-45min then IM HITTING THE SACK! ugh can’t wait to lay and bed, stretch and get some well needed rest 🙂

Supps 101 L-Carnitine

is a substance that helps the body turn fat into energy. Your body makes it in the liver and kidneys and stores it in the skeletal muscles, heart, brain, and sperm.

 

Dietary Sources:

Red meat (particularly lamb) and dairy products are the main food sources of carnitine. It can also be found in fish, poultry, tempeh, wheat, asparagus, avocados, and peanut butter.

Available Forms:

Carnitine is available as a supplement in a variety of forms.

  • L-carnitine: the most widely available and least expensive
  • Acetyl-L-carnitine: Often used in studies for Alzheimer’s disease and other brain disorders
  • Propionyl-L-carnitine: Often used in studies for heart disease and peripheral vascular disease

Avoid D-carnitine supplements. They interfere with the natural form of L-carnitine and may produce unwanted side effects.

In some cases, L-carnitine may be taken by prescription or given intravenously by a health care provider.

How to Take It:

Pediatric

Recommended doses of L-carnitine vary depending on the health condition being treated. The usual dose is between 1 – 3 g per day.

Precautions:

Side effects are generally mild. High doses (5 or more grams per day) may cause diarrhea. Other rare side effects include increased appetite, body odor, and rash.

I put the liquid L-Carnitine in my green smoothie, like mentioned earlier. You can take it in pill form (I’m trying to stay away from pills really hence why I even bought the liquid version in the first place).
However.. after reading this… two things stood out to me:

Exercise Performance

Although carnitine is often taken to boost exercise performance, there is no evidence it works.

Weight Loss

Although L-carnitine has been marketed as a weight loss supplement, there is no scientific evidence to show that it works. Some studies do show that oral carnitine reduces fat mass, increases muscle mass, and reduces fatigue, which may contribute to weight loss in some people.

&& that’s that only reason I take it.. So.. why take something that may not be good for me? Well I just bought a brand new bottle. I am currently taking no other supplements (I say I take a multi but NOT daily.. I’m a straight basket case. NOR have I taken Glutamine), and I will stop taking NINJA (my all natural pre workout).

I’m going to figure this out. Or at least try to listen to how my body feels. My energy levels have always  been low and it sucks 😦 I mean normal caffeine makes me tired. A black cup of coffee literally PUTS ME TO BED… :(:(:(:( OKOK.. so This is going to be my little experiment…. maybe my body doesn’t naturally produce enough? hmmmm…… 🙂

What others had to say about L-carnitine:

“Other than that, it’s harmless. It is pretty close to useless, because since 1996 we’ve known that it really doesn’t seem to increase athletic performance, but it’s harmless, which is a lot more than we can say for most supplements”.

After reading this http://www.chasefreedom.com/lcarnitine.htmlI found it’s unnecessary to take an L-Carnitine supplement unless you were maybe a vegetariansince beef is already high in it. Milk, cheese, and poultry have some as well. CLA appears beneficial when paired with a good diet and exercise program, but it’s not a miracle supplement and will not see any results if you have a bad diet and don’t bust your ass in the gym. Bottom line, CLA is the choice between the two but it’s results probably won’t be very noticeable, so the choice is up to you, (this guy was talking about taking CLA AND L-Carnitine together).

 

I’ve come to a conclusion, that I don’t think I want to take any supplements anymore. However, CLA and L-carnitine ARE produced in the body, I just don’t think I want this “junk” that doesn’t have any huge evidence resulting in weight loss. I always say there is no magic pill, and that’s true, but there ARE things that are able to help aid in weight loss.  NOTHING will help, however, if you eat like shit.

AND THEN I READ THIS:

#4: Carnitine
Carnitine is a water soluble nutrient, similar to B vitamin, that allows us to convert fat into energy. Carnitine and its derivative, acetyl L-carnitine (see below) are two of the most important nutrients for weight loss. However, for carnitine to have optimum effect, there must be adequate essential fatty acids (such as omega-3s) present in the diet. Carnitine is critical for energy formation and an active metabolism. Hmm.. MAYBE.. I will think about taking CLA and L-Carnitine (and another product, but that’s for another blog), together when I get closer to competition (usually when the last stubborn pounds wont come off), but until then I’m just going to keep researching.

Day 14 Officially 12 weeks till NPC bikini comp!

1022am I have been up since 8am. My mom and I were suppose to go to church but she’s dead asleep. So I starting writing an L-Carnitine blog and haven’t eaten yet. I really want to make another smoothie but my mother is still passed out downstairs for some reason, and I don’t want to wake her.

I have to study today.. it’s not even funny. That and I need to do my laundry FROM START TO FINISH. lol && I really want to  make those sugar cookies. Today’s blog is going to be boring. I feel good. I have no cravings and I’m not tempted by anything so far. I did finish the corn last night, which I think is a weird fucking craving. Before I wouldn’t let myself touch corn because its the veggie that doesn’t really count as a veggie to people. Actually.. lets do some research on corn shall we…

Awesome. First thing I read.

Many people make the mistake of considering corn a vegetable. It’s an easy error to make, since corn is often sold in the produce section of the grocery store, often side by side with cabbage, broccoli, and cauliflower, as well as other healthy foods. But corn is actually a grain, not a vegetable.

Adding Corn to Your Flat Belly Diet

So, can you eat corn as part of a flat belly diet? As with all things, you should do so in moderation. Try to find a source for non-GMO corn in your local community, by going to a farmers’ market or asking a food co-op for assistance. When you do eat corn, be sure to count it out as a vegetable, but as a grain for your meal. So you will want to be aware of this as you plan your meals. If you eat corn with rice, for example, you are actually eating two grains per meal, which could slow your weight loss.

1130am and I finally finished my protein green smoothie. and I didn’t realize it has mushrooms in it.. haha.. oh man.. I was reading off the ingredients and my mom was pretty impressed.

I made all the meals yesterday so I’m glad she’s eating. It actually isn’t hard to make any of these recipes I’ve been making. I’m gonna BE A GREAT WIFE! haha.. actually I don’t mind cooking just the cleaning part.  So as soon as I get up, I’m going to find the sugar cookie recipe (and possibly this oatmeal raisin for my mom), clean, eat then head to the gym.

Oatmeal-Raisin Breakfast Cookies

(gluten-free!)

Also one of My Sugar-Free Recipes.

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • scant 1/2 cup applesauce or over-ripe banana (mashed)
  • 1/4 cup nut butter (I used salted pb)
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 3 T raisins (or other dried fruit, or even chocolate chips)
  • pinch salt if desired (taste the dough to decide)
  • 1 packet stevia (or 1 tablespoon sugar. I actually omitted this altogether. If you have absolutely no sweet tooth, you can try it that way. And if you have a huge sweet tooth—or are used to “non-healthy-tasting” desserts—try adding 1/4 cup sugar. As I said above, don’t expect these to taste like your everyday oatmeal-raisin cookies. I’ll post a recipe for those soon!)

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Mash the banana with the nut butter, then add all other ingredients and mix until well-combined. Shape into cookies and bake for around 14 minutes. (Alternatively, you can try pulverizing the raisins and oats before combining them with the banana mixture, if you want more sweetness.)

This recipe probably yields around 10-12 cookies, but I had to guess… because I ate a considerable amount of the raw dough!

Except before the gym, I have to stop at the store and pick up applesauce, dates, spinach, tofu, and ground beef. I think the tofu will be for the frosting for the sugar cookies.

Healthy Sugar Cookies!

  • 3/4 cup ww pastry flour (or white or a gf mix like Arrowhead Mills)
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt (just under level)
  • 1/4 tsp plus 1/8 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 cup white sugar (or sucanat, coconut sugar, or evaporated cane juice)
  • 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 and 1/2 tablespoons nondairy milk of choice
  • 1/4 cup vegan butter sub, such as Earth Balance (Some readers say you can use coconut oil, but I haven’t tried it.)

Combine dry ingredients and mix very, very well. In a separate bowl, melt the vegan butter, then stir in vanilla and milk. Pour dry into wet and mix again. Form balls or roll out (not too thin), then use a cookie cutter to make shapes. If you want soft cookies, you’ll need to get the dough very cold. (So roll the balls first, then fridge until cold.)  Cook in a 325F preheated oven for 9 minutes. They will look very underdone when you take them out, but that’s ok!! Just let them cool for 5 minutes before touching. (I know it’s hard!)

 Pretty excited about these two recipes. Not sure what I’m going to do about the sugar part because I want to put agave syrup not white sugar….:( Ill figure it out..

They turned out alright. The oatmeal ones needed a little more sugar (my mom doesn’t think so), but the sugar ones came out better then the oatmeal ones. Hmm I bet I can make both of them better. Next recipe of hers I’m going to try is the Chickpea Blondie’s

CHEST DAY TODAY! (yes, I usually do with shoulders, but I forgot. SO it gets a day to itself 😉

Chest work out will focus on Lying down chest press/ incline chest press flyes push ups and probably seated press and flyes. BTW I hate doing chest. Just like arms. Hate em. ugh. BTW!

OFFICIALLY 12 WEEKS OUT!

Super excited. I have to email Jennifer about my suit, and get everything written down for my sanity. I at least need an affirmative answer about the suit no more then a month out. I have the shoes, everything else just takes time and preparation! !!!!

SO it’s about 800pm Just got home from shopping with the madre and I ended up baking the oatmeal raisin and the sugar cookies as soon as we got home. We left at around 230- 3pm I want to say. She took me in the chocolate shop………mhm.. then we went to the gap and I found some really cool jean.. i got 3 different sizes, hopefully that will track my progress a little bit.. and here is a cool picture I took…

It wasn’t even temping. Of course I saw some AMAZING things and my mouth watered as I read the labeled chocolate, but I didn’t feel anxious or a trigger what so ever, which is great. I just remind myself, I DO NOT EAT SUGAR/ PROCESSED FOODS anymore. It helps by saying it when I see something I used to binge on.. Anywho after the mall, I had to go to the store to get a few extra things to make the cookies (applesauce, dates, nut butter ext). & to think I walked into a target to get what I wanted, and walked out with just that is simply amazing, because I love target. I’m finishing up the blog and then studying my little heart out. I haven’t studied in years 😉

Day 13 If you ever want to know how Hell feels, have food control your life.

I have been reading a few blogs lately, so I get the feel of WordPress, and the blogs I do check out are normally fitness based (same goes for instagram and pinterest). Browsing the blogs have made me open my eyes to the similarities in my life, to other peoples. To see someone blogging about going through what I have gone through, makes me a little on edge. I am a very emotional person and it’s hard not being able to comfort someone going through what they are going through and knowing how they feel. I guess maybe I should be a tad bit more open.. I’ve battled eating disorders for 8 years now, everything from Bulimia, Anorexia, to Binge Eating to BDD (Body Dysmorphic Disorder). I’ll go more in depth about it down the road, but I did want to mention a little something about it. And to everyone that IS going through something like this, get in touch with someone, or write it all down. I didn’t want to talk to anyone, I was going to gain control on my own. And gain control I did. You have to BELIEVE that you are better then this. That FOOD WILL NOT CONTROL YOUR LIFE LIKE IT HAS BEEN. No joke. STOP EATING SHIT. I probably ate over 5,000 calories a day and I did that for 2 weeks. Whatever the FUCK I wanted, I ate it and BOY did it all taste so FUCKING GOOD! I never weighed myself but my clothes fit horribly, I felt horrible, and you best believe I fucking looked horrible. I straight up stopped giving a shit, and not just about anything but MYSELF. The only thing I have in this world, the only thing that can make me happy, I was slowly destroying.  I have no idea why (I have a slight idea how it all started but that is another page, another day). I was in a horrible funk, my mother knew and it was embarrassing because I ate A L O T . She even said  “Marissa you should feel lucky, with how much you ate you should be well over 200lbs”… and she was right. It felt disgusting having extra weight on my body, it was an unnatural feeling and I HATED IT). Then one day I quit smoking cold turkey. I binged for 4 weeks and the day that marked one month of not one puff, I asked God to help me and I just stopped. Just like my addiction to nicotine, I quit my addiction to sugar, to food, just like that. I took back control of my life and have never felt stronger.

ANYWHO!

I am on to bigger and better things now. I can finally breathe ❤

It’s 1130am, don’t worry I’ve been up already. Made some blueberry (and blackberry) breakfast cakes and they weren’t as good as I expected. It was nice to eat carbs but it was really bland. I ended up trying to added Sugar Free raspberry jelly.. it was OK (I bet if I added PB and the Sugar Free Jelly it would of tasted ALOT better.. I’ll try it when I get downstairs), I tried it with sprinkled stevia on top (probably the best), and Sugar Free Syrup. LOL… so obviously it was added calories…… GRRR.. OH and I added too many blueberries.. such a thing? yeah….

It looks ALOT better then it tasted :/

So I’m gonna lay around and be a bum till my next meal (2pm), make cauliflower pizza (YUM!) then head to the gym to do arms.. which is my least favorite 😦 (only because I don’t have definition like I’d like).

Around 230pm I made my cauliflower pizza, and of course it was amazing. I did add a little cayenne pepper and red pepper to the crust. Honestly, the smell that came from the oven when I opened it was A M A Z I N G. You guys NEED to make this.. yes its a little pain in your ass , but it is worth it.

So I waited till that digested a bit.. oh yeah, my pictures just finished uploading and I forget to mention that I almost ate an entire bag of corn. I don’t know why, but I couldn’t stop. Okay, I could of stopped but I didn’t want to. It was just so fucking good. :/

(Getting rid of this Earth Balance shit. It has some weird shit in it and I don’t like it, even if its vegan).

Got to the gym @ 3:45pm. Started with Barbell (BB) bicep curls for 3 rounds of 12 reps @ 30lbs. In between I did standing skull crushers, so 3 rounds of 10 reps @ 20lbs. Not going to lie.. I was already dying at this point.

I then moved to the cable machines. I haven’t used cables in a while but I love them (especially for arms). I did 6 sets of triceps pushdowns

  • Set 1: 12 reps x 60 lbs
  • Set 2: 12 reps x 60 lbs
  • Set 3:  12 reps x 70 lbs (was actually still pretty light right here)
  • Set 4: 10 reps x 80 lbs
  • Set 5: 7-8 reps x 90 lbs
  • Set 6: 5 reps x 10 100 lbs

In between sets 1, 2 and 3 I did 10 bench dips. 

After this, my triceps were on fire. I moved over to a different cable machine because I couldn’t move the bar down and I needed to for the next excerise. I started with 50 lbs and did a cable bicep curl moved up to 60 lbs but only did 3 sets. I went into the yoga room and did 3 sets of Dumbbell (DB) bicep curls followed with burps (with shoulder press- bosu ball). I was sweating and it hurt so bad. I finished with planks and couldn’t move. Caught my breath, and drove home =D

Immediately made a green smoothie. I mixed the ALIVE! pea protein powder, L-Carnitine, Almond Milk, Water, Mangoes, Strawberries, and a small banana. Doesn’t taste bad actually. =D

The longer I’m blogging and reading other blogs I am actually pretty excited about how everything is going. I am going to clean my room and finish laundry. I’m going to make Turkey Meatballs for dinner and relax with a nice bubble bath, I’m feeling pretty sore.. I do wanna post a separate blog regarding Running, L-Carnitine and Trigger Foods. Maybe if I get bored tonight I’ll write an extra blog ❤

625pm Just finished up making a turkey meatloaf.. Meatloaf not meat loaf muffins.. I wanted to try something different (and hopefully the cooking time is the same) and put it in a semi circle glass ware and put a think layer of ketchup on the top.. Hmmmm in 40 min well see I guess. This blog has been pretty boring because I have been pretty boring, and I apologize about that. It will start getting interesting when I start putting progress pictures and I get closer to my compeition date.

HOLY SHIT I FORGOT ABOUT THE MEATLOAF!

Lol.. it was actually a good thing I went downstairs. The TIME SHUT OFF! ugh! lol I had to guess and check, but it turned out great! a little dry but it was actually really good. I had a portion 😉

Day 12 Have no fear; Leg day is here!

It’s Friday & It’s Leg Day & I Love It.

I got to wake up an hour later, cuddle with Marley. I’m starting to think its the simple things in life that make it so great!

I made my green smoothie (Mango, Strawberry, Banana, Flax,Fiber,Kale,Almond Milk, OJ, Water, Ice). && about my smoothies, I need to go back to GNC to get the L-carnitine in the Ice T flavor. It MADE my smoothies and now I miss it.

Okay so onto my weekend plans. I have no weekend plans. Besides working out, obviously. But I DO have to study. NOT joking. I have a test Wed and I come home too late on the weekdays to study at night.

So onto  my food for today.. As I was driving here I actually looked at my Lara Bar’s and although they DO only have 4-5 ingredients, its still a little sugar and carbs for my liking. So. I’ll either save my Lara Bars for weekends, or need to control them. Because I love them and I can’t get enough. BUT ON A LIGHTER NOTE!!!!! I’m doing GREAT. The no processed foods is actually going pretty well. I’m pretty surprised actually. I have 1 redbull I’ll drink probably 1 or 2 diet sodas, I have an almond butter packet and MAYBE a lara bar for snacks ( I was excited to have the Lara bar because its chocolate coconut mmmmmm), but I have the rest of last nights dinner (ground beef, brown rice, and broccoli) for my 2 meals at work today.

Look what I just found. :(:( I guess technically I’m not “no processed”

BOOTY WERK

I think since I’m doing legs 2x a week, my focus on Monday will mainly be Quads, and Friday’s leg day will be Hamstrings.. Both will focus on calves. For example:

Monday:

  • Squats
  • Lunges
  • Back Ext (focus on hams)
  • Leg Ext
  • Leg Press

Friday:

  • Deadlifts
  • Squats (light)
  • Lunges
  • Step Ups
  • Leg Ext (end with these, go heavy)

Like my squats on Monday will be HELLA different then my squats on Friday. Understand? lol.

So I just realized that I may not do BBH this year with Nikki…. 😦 (I’ll post a pic of Nikki and I later when I get home), but that’s really disappointing.. More so because no one told us and they posted pics on their FB of another girl.. LOL.. oh okay….  kinda funny though people are posting that they don’t care because its not Nikki or I. 😦 awwwww…. well.. It was a GREAT 2 years BIG BUCK!

2pm AND I’M JUST NOW EATING!!!! WHAT THE FUCK! I should be having my 3rd meal in an hour not my second. AND I couldn’t find the fucking Lara Bar.. obv I wasn’t meant to eat it today. lol.. So eating a portion of the leftovers and will eat again as soon as I get home.

3:17pm Food was awesome. I was still hungry though, so I’m now eating Justin’s Classic Almond Butter (190 cals) for a “snack”. Also comes in chocolate, honey, and classic. All are AWESOME.

&& QUICK UPDATE:

So.. some “drama” occurred regarding Big Buck Hunter…… Nikki has been sending me convo’s back and forth between her and Dave and something fishy is going on. It wasn’t a definite NO.. but it sure as fuck wasn’t a “yes” regarding whether or not Nikki and I are doing BBH this year :/ which isn’t SO bad.. lol I’m staying positive. My thoughts are either they,

  1. Don’t want any drama (Nikki and I are pretty popular with dem boys, LOL!)
  2. We will be used, but not as much (we get flown everywhere, maybe they are cutting costs).
  3. We still have our job.
  4. They don’t know how to tell us?
  5. They really don’t know?

Regardless of the outcome, I had a BLAST. It was a really cool experience and if I don’t continue, I hope to do something similar. Even though we had a pretty good set up going.. (flown to different states to get paid to party with your best friend?.. yeah. amazing).

530pm I finished the leftovers I had for lunch, and then had Justin’s almond butter for a snack on the way home. I took Marley out and waited for my mom to get home.

715pm I headed to the gym. READY TO FUCKING LIFT! My routine looked a little like this:

Started off with Deadlifts

  • Set 1: 50lbs x 12
  • Set 2: 50lbs x 10
  • Set 3: 60lbs x 10
  • Set 4: 7olbs x 8

But in between each set I did Back ext for 8 to 10 reps.

After deadlifting (which I could of gone heavier, but these kids already took the weight off when I returned). I did Step ups.

It’s literally how it sounds. I have 40lbs (20lbs in each hand) and did each leg 2×10 reps each.

Legs were getting a little wobbly at this point, but was excited for lunges.

Lunges were:

  • Set 1: 40lbs x 25
  • Set 2: 30lbs x25
  • Set 3: BW x 25
  • Set 4: 40lbs x 12
  • Set 5: 30lbs x 12
  • Set 6: BW x 12

I did 4 sets of these abductions adduction machines and followed with Leg Extensions:

  • Set 1: 65lbs x 12
  • Set 2: 80lbs x 12
  • Set 3: 95lbs x 9
  • Set 4: 110lbs x 8

I didn’t do lunges or planks. I was litterally shaking.. and now I’m exhausted. I made a protein shake with myofusion and pb2. I was GOING to make cauliflower pizza, but as I was cutting the cauliflower I decided I wasn’t in the mood lol. So tomorrow I will make blueberry muffins for breakfast (maybe with a ALIVE! green pea smoothie) and the cauliflower pizza. I’m really excited, Sunday I’m going to spend all day making cool dishes. Makes your lifestyle easier when you know how to prepare the foods.

I’ve been told that all processed foods are bad for us. I am having a hard time understanding what exactly is considered to be “processed food.” Do you have a list or something that would help me? Processed foods have been altered from their natural state, either for safety reasons or for convenience. The methods used for processing foods include canning, freezing, refrigeration, dehydration and aseptic processing.

Processed foods that are bad for your diet:

Day 11 Boulder Shoulders

I’m feeling pretty good. No sugar (besides fruit/natural sugars), no smoking, no processed BULLSHIT.

I’m going to do the 100 day no processed food challenge. =D

830am Had a protein shake (Myofusion, Natural Pb (INSTEAD of the pb2 this time), Almond Milk and More Ice then normally. Fucking Fantastic. Like a liquid Reeses.

930am Had to drive a customer home and got bored and had a Lara Bar (Apple Pie) handy. Was going to save it till 11am but I really wanted to try this flavor. LOL. I may no joke already be addicted to them. They only have (depending which flavor you get) like 5-6 ingredients. I had the chocolate chip cookie dough twice and I LOVED it. The apple pie one wasn’t bad, but still perfer the CCCD.

Just Ordered this variety pack (as I was JUST looking for a picture of the lara bars lol).. Actually pretty excited.

Nothing too exciting happening today. I have a mini banana I MIGHT eat in an hour or so. I also brought 2 lite laughing cow cheeses, my blackened chicken, and I have some left over steak (mini banana and 1 LC cheese gone 12:27pm).

&& I was checking out my lifting schedule to see what I have today and I ALREADY MESSED IT UP. It says I have back today but I did back tuesday.. LOL.. guess Ill be doing shoulders tonight haha.. so were just gonna switch this up a bit.

  • Monday: Legs
  • Tuesday: Back
  • Wednesday: OFF (for now)
  • Thursday: Shoulders
  • Friday: Legs w calves
  • Saturday: Arms
  • Sunday: Cardio/Plyo.

I’m going to focus on lifting heavy (I’m 12 weeks out early next week I believe and will continue to lift heavy for as long as possible. When you start depleting carbs your energy levels deplete as well and it takes a lot of energy to lift heavy. I’m also going to have to cut out using NINJA about 2-4 weeks out prior to the show).

330pm I finished my chicken breast. I had it with BBQ (just enough to satisfy me). && I got a diet mt dew ❤ and I’m still fucking hungry and it was a big piece. I have no nuts, cheese, NOTHING.. so tea it is.. 😦

5pm Leave work, sit in traffic. Walk Marley.

6pm Made Ground Beef, Brown Rice, Broccoli, Cheese before my shoulder work out.

730pm SHOULDER WORK OUT

830-9pm  Home. Another protein shake or meal. And head to bed. Nothing exciting happened today.. cept I was looking at my butt, and its huge.. Not gonna lie. I suppose I’ll post a pic.

I had a pretty good shoulder work out.. Did everything besides the rear delt flye.. Planks hurt today but Im glad I’m getting better at them.

945pm Just laying in bed, relaxing. Thank God its friday tomorrow I love my weekends. I ‘m not on a schedule, don’t have an alarm to wake up too! It’s just a nice feeling. Will post some new recipes I found out, but I usually like to post about them when I actually cook them so maybe Ill get creative tomorrow.

Day 10 HUNG (RY) OVER

 

6am woke up (boots jacket and all) sitting up right on the couch, in my clothes that I am still wearing.  (3 hours sleep MAX)

645am sitting in drivers seat head on steering wheel eyes close. Kami is freaking out, her wallet is lost.

7am finally decided she was s.o.l and we were off on our way.

7:01am “chicago hit” someone backing out.. nbd, on our way.

7:10am kami needs water, McDonald’s it is. Officially on the road after the small pit stop.

7-10am driving. yelling. swearing. heat on. heat off. window up. window down. some more swearing. speeding. yelling.

The drive wasn’t so bad but we were probably still drunk, kami is freaking out about her wallet and the fact that I DRUNK BUTT DIALED HER DAD! lol but she was literally on the phone with PNC or VISA for the ENTIRE car ride and actually kept her composure which I would of LOST it. These guys were idiots. Anyways..  I got to work an hour late. Head was spinning and stomach was growling and all while sitting in traffic im trying NOT to puke.

so its 12:28pm I haven’t had anything to eat. I’m drinking tea. I’m off today (gym wise) because I have class. I HAVE A 3 HOUR CLASS AFTER ALL THIS?!?!? omg.

So.

  • $120 speeding ticket.
  • a $15 jack and diet coke.
  • Cal didn’t sing his good songs (but I just found out that he did.. and kami and I were singing along just drunk).
  • Police showed up at house.
  • Kami broke her $700 glasses.
  • Bed @ 3am up @ 6am. Drunk.
  • Woke up fully dressed upright on a couch.
  • Kami lost her wallet.
  • I backed into a car.
  • Drove for 3 hours, only an hour late for work.

AWESOME.

So nothing really excited happened between Lunch and 5pm.. But I did make a trip to Whole Foods.. to FINALLY EAT SOMETHING.. um and what the F U C K. I spent $125. Yeah.. and all I wanted was my blackened chicken breasts…

  • LARA BARS (OMG IM IN LOVE. Coconut CREAM pie, chocolate coconut chew, and apple bar. My love has grown mostly because of Kami. Though she hates them, I actually enjoy them. However I only tried the chocolate chip cookie dough mmmmmm Straight up in love).
  • Alive! (Has a SHIT ton of veggies and nutrients inside, just a simple powder I’m going to add to my green smoothies ).

So I’m actually pretty happy with my purchase. I also got lunch and my chicken breasts just not pictured.

6pm Psych class. Got into an argument with a chick that has a thicker accent that makes everything hard to understand. Someone brought up Whitney Houston and she followed with some smart ass remark and end up saying “..nothing but a piece of shit.” I originally bit my tongue and I saw this nice guy on my left do the same. Well she happened to say it again and I chipped in right away. I pretty much was like how dare you fucking talk about someone like that.. I mean she died.. she was someones family blahblahblah and she’s like “see, why are you coming at me like this?” and “be nicer, respectful.” HOLY HELL. As soon as she even mentioned the word respect, I flipped. I just stopped talking and was just taken aback but the whole thing. She actually ended up caving 25 min into class… I wonder if shell be there next week.. But I had 1/2 of a lara bar before class.

7pm I had a chicken breast.. Sitting in class…… eating a chicken breast with my hands.

OH and apparently middle children are the best lovers/companions (wife, husband ext). And the most mentally stable. SUCK ON IT BITCHES!. lol just kidding.. Hmmmmm I forget what I’m doing in the gym tomorrow.. legs???? arms??????

Yup 11:27pm and I had the other 1/2 of the Lara Bar.. I’m hooked. Made with dates cashews and whatever else they throw in there but thats it.. and I found another blog I’m super excited about. Will make something else so I can post a recipe, but I was off today at the gym (which is obv why lol)

Day 9 Happy Valentines Day <3


Happy Valentines Day

Okay. So yes, I am technically writing this on day 10 because I got COMPLETELY side tracked yesterday.. and my diet was COMPLETELY thrown off too 😦

I had the day off so I got up at 8am, laid in bed till 9.  I just made eggs before the gym (not to get weighed down…. and I was really lazy).

Got to the gym at 10am.. BACK DAY.. no cardio 😦 I had no time.. I actually was thinking about just NOT even going and realized I NEEEEEEEEEED it. ALL of it.

Took Marley out and made a green smoothie. Added a shit ton of blueberries because I can tell they are going bad. Sipped on that for about an hour while I got ready. I had to leave at 12pm to go pick Kami up in the city.  So I ate a scoop of PB on my weigh out the door and realized I had no food to take with me 😦 (always harder to eat OUT but still possible).

Got to Kamis at 115ish, here is her layout and I was FUCKING JEALOUS, (and pissed her off a bit with my “must be nice” quote)… but it was all in good fun, didn’t mean any harm. However she had a really cool set up and felt very grown up “y” lol. She was all cute and got excited to tell me shes eating healthy and we ate chicken and corn. I had a HUGE craving for corn lol, idk. Anywho we left at 230pm and we will continue with a picture LOL

Yeah……….. $120 later.  I was only going 80 which is ACTUALLY pretty slow for me.. and he wrote on the ticket “admitted going 80” LMAO. whatthefuck?! and it was valentines day.. 😦 So Kami and I switched, and she started driving the rest of the way.  and we get to his house at 4ish I wanna say? We didnt stay long Kami was hungry and Calvin was in a bad mood. So we went to Potbelly’s and I WAS SO HUNGRY!

Got vegetable soup and a pickle lol. It was better then nothing. However that’s all I ate for the rest of the day and I did in fact drink. No sugar drinks just vodka rum and tonic water lol UMMMMMMMM

7pm got to concert. Calvin and Kami didn’t think we should leave early because there wouldnt be a line.. well.. LOL and yes I HAD TO TAKE A PIC TO SAY “I TOLD YOU SO” mmmmmhmmmmm.. SO I remember entering the concert chilling drinking whatever.. Timeflies comes on.. sings all that fun stuff and we leave obviously after it was over (do NOT REMEMBER LEAVING VENUE) and so later Kami and I bitched about how the day couldn’t of gotten worse (we bitched ALOT during that car ride home lol) and we were like and Cal didn’t even play the songs we wanted him to sing.. and earlier today I watched videos of Cal singing his songs.. our songs.. and we were trying to sing along.. lol….. um. yep!

1am-3am Alright so we get to Calvins somehow.. and all I remember is walking up to the front door and a man was blocking the door with his foot. Apparently I “put my hands on him” but yeah ok.. maybe.. But Kami apparently threw a red bull out the window at a car and he what? was randomly walking around at 2am? and saw this go down? lol…. ummmmm so 2 other cops came.. here.. proof AND I apparently video taped the entire conversation lol.

So they left.. after.. yep dont really know don’t really care.. um all I know is I went to bed @ 3 or 4 am and woke up at 6:30am FULLY DRESSED (W/ boots and jacket.. my exact outfit) upright…. but Ill explain more about the next “day” and how it was pretty eventful lol.. But anyways.. I didn’t eat that good I ate as BEST as I could without using it as an excuse to shitty food. Alcohol I can deal with, just not all the fat calories..

So I think since this day is technically over.. I’ll continue with day 9’s blog (today) lol. ❤
