Monday 29/83 (2/4)

So here is my first progress picture:

I had another one where my stomach was showing but honestly with how my legs looked, I looked WAY too disproportional. So I decided to go with this one.

Like I’ve mentioned before, I have barely done any cardio (in the fear I’d lose my ass) and still eating quiet a few carbs. While I was in bed last night I was playing around on my calender on my phone and setting a few reminders. Adding an hour of cardio in about 2 weeks (currently doing 30 minutes of cardio after my life session), taking out fruit 4 weeks out and so forth.

I have been creeping a couple peoples pictures on instagram and have been actually getting quite nervous. I feel like I am not going to be ready. I shouldn’t even think this because I still have 7 weeks left to go. I just get nervous sometimes. I barely have my abs and my arms are always slacking. The only thing I feel good about is my legs. I do know that once I start taking out a little bit of carbs and my fruit and up cardio that I should start seeing more results, but the clock is ticking!

Either way, I will be happy with my body because it is TEN times better than it was before I started. I just need to keep up the momentum even after I compete. I really don’t see a problem with it either. New things are arising so getting into the gym everyday will NOT be a problem.  Not only that but I honestly haven’t binged once. UGH! I keep wanting to blog about cheating and bingeing and just haven’t gotten around to it. I just think its really important to know that you can have whatever you want as long as it is in moderation. I always feel like shit after I binge and feel so guilty that it turns into a vicious cycle.

Not this time.

I can honestly say I feel so much better regarding my relationship with food. I have found the joy in treating my body to the food that it deserves, not the bullshit cravings I create in my head. Yes it is nice to splurge and eat moms homemade apple crisp (last night..oops!), but one serving was enough to satisfy myself with. Yes, I could of ate the whole pan. Yes, I could of felt guilty and consumed a thousand more calories just because. But I no longer want to. I want to live my life and love the body I was given. I am taking all of this time and putting it into the gym that I actually feel guilty when I “snack”. Now this isn’t right either but you have to understand I am trying to compete here in a few weeks. Anyone just living the healthy lifestyle should not feel guilty because of one or two hershey kisses!

Paleomg Blueberry Muffins!

Holy crap. I skipped a workout (now have to try to get a workout in the rest of the week.. I do do stupid shit though.. squats in the bathroom, lunges in the middle of the road while the boo and I waited for the cops to leave a house so we could get our car on 4th of July..true story.. but what I am saying is this shit adds up.. you don’t think so but it does*).. and decided that I though I didn’t want to be working out I wanted to do something that still makes me enjoy life just a little bit more. I have been putting all fave recipes in a book, printing out recipes but not making them. So that’s what I was gonna do, bake.

I made your blueberry muffins and I loved them. Although I don’t eat paleo* the ingredients are so simple that I don’t discriminate 😉 and you’ll be thankful I don’t. This are magical. Obviously they have flour and sugar (honey, which is something I wanted to tweak), but these compared to a store bought one its almost dumb to waste all those stairmaster minutes on shit you didn’t need but wanted. hmmph.

Simple Blueberry Muffins

Prep time: 5 mins
Cook time: 20 mins
Total time: 25 mins
Serves: 8-10
Ingredients
Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. If you’re good at baking, you’ll know to mix the dry then the wet ingredients then mix together, but I do all the ingredients together and it works out just fine.
  3. Place ingredients into 8-10 silicone muffin cups in a muffin tin. Or you can use muffin tin paper liners.
  4. Bake for 15-20 minutes. Just keep an eye on it, they will puff up and look adorable.
  5. Eat them and be happy. And merry.

Oh.. btw.. I have never cooked with honey and I wanted to mention something and then remembered something else about the honey.. it made the batter veryyyyyyyy sticky! Not joke that or I fucked up but they still tasted wonderful. I had to hand mix in the blueberries and was still having trouble.  so I made 6 kinda on the bigger side muffins because I only have a 12×12 pan or 6 muffin tin and this batter was ickkystickyy. I also want to try to sweeten it with a different kind of sugar.. organic cane.. blue agave syrup… trial and error 🙂

and I am a dumbass.

I was looking at the directions and read 8-10 .. literally were making these in a timely manner not reading further.. 15-20.. thank goodness I know to stick a fork inside to see how clean it comes out. These didnt after 8 min.. nor 10.. lol haha

..and after I go to get the link for the pictures I see a carrot cake muffin.. hmm.. and instead of the cream she uses (or maybe I will).. these are the ingredients for the carrot cake muffins..

  • For the frosting
  • 1.5 cups raw cashews (unsalted)
  • 5 tablespoons Coconut Cream Concentrate
  • 1/3 cup canned coconut milk
  • 1 tablespoon Raw Honey
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Yum.

&& as it relate to my fitness life.. I am hanging in there… Not eating as much as I’d like and haven’t been doing enough cardio (on top of weight training) enough to feel “complete” lol. I am still a little soft in areas and have no doubt that will change with a little more plyometric based exercises and/or a little more time on my stairmastermister haaaa!

Day 26 only cheating myself.

My pants from gap, that didnt fit now fit. Ok they dont “fit”: but I’m wearing them . HAHA.. anyways been pretty busy. I ate 2 cookies last night. I was going to eat more but I feel asleep (THANK YOU GOD SO MUCH). It’s either bc of my period or the fact that I smoked pot. Yes I smoke pot and Yes I am thinking of quitting. Right now this is where I need full dedication/motivation and I don’t think I’m all there yet. I will be, this is a work in progress and I will take it one day at a time.

I should be upset. I’m not. I went almost 30 days without “cheating.” I am SO so proud of myself.

I didn’t even really put much thought into this title, until now. Realizing that I should of put it for (what really is tomorrows blog) but noticing I kind of fucked up today (yesterday LOL) too. The reason I am not emphasizing on my bad days is because the more that I sit there and ask myself why, the more that I feel like I have a problem. I am overcoming it even if I do have one. But I need to fucking learn how to forgive myself. I can’t take back the food I eat (NO ED!), I can only r e s o l v e the issue. Work it off, hate myself for it, or nothing. I would usually hate myself for it AND do nothing. That obvious’y didn’t work. I realize that when or what I do only cheats myself. No one else is going to care so I have to. I have to CARE about myself. If only you were taught these things at a younger age … :/

Black Bean Brownies Recipe

Nutritional Info: 85 calories, 1g fat, 16g carbs, 4g protein (without optional sugar)

Servings: 9

Description:

Dense, fudge-y and ultra-healthy, these brownies are a great alternative to traditional brownies! It’s amazing how they taste like chocolate and fudge and not beans! Chef’s Notes: Rolled oats run through the food processor may substituted for the instant oats. Use optional sugar if your bananas are still green and not very ripe.

Ingredients:

  • 15 ounces black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 2 whole bananas
  • cup agave nectar
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup raw sugar (optional)
  • ¼ cup instant oats

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease an 8×8″ pan and set aside. Combine all ingredients, except oats, in a food processor or blender and blend until smooth, scrapping sides as needed. Stir in the oats and pour batter into the pan. Bake approximately 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow to cool before slicing. Chef’s Note: if you find these brownies are too soft or too fudge-y, add another 1/4 cup oats or flour.

Pumpkin Chocolate-Chip Pizookie

(gluten free!)

Obviously inspired by the Deep-Dish Cookie Pie.

  • 2 cans white beans or garbanzos (drained and rinsed) (500g total, once drained)
  • 1 cup quick oats
  • 1/4 cup pureed pumpkin (or butternut squash or sweet potato)
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 and 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 3 T canola oil (or coconut oil)
  • 1 and 1/2 cups brown sugar (You can try adding less sugar, if you’re used to healthy desserts; I chose to use this much because the people to whom I served it are used to “normal” desserts. Also, white sugar will work if you don’t have brown. Also: I know some readers have successfully made my original pie with agave.)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Blend everything (except the chips) very well in a food processor. (Blend until it’s super-smooth.) Mix in chips, and pour into a pan. (I used a 10-inch springform pan, but you can use a smaller pan if you want a really deep-dish pie.) Cook at 350F for 35 minutes. Let stand at least 10 minutes before removing from the pan.

If desired, you can top this pie with Vanilla Ice Milk.

Vanilla Ice Milk :

  • 1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • very scant 1/16 tsp salt (don’t omit)
  • sweetener (such as 1 stevia packet or 1T sugar)
  • 1 cup almond milk (I used unsweetened Silk. See below for substitution notes.)
  • optional: add-ins such as fruit, peanut butter, or extracts

Mix the ingredients together in 1 or 2 shallow plastic containers. Freeze. (You could also use an ice cube tray.) Once frozen, pop the blocks out of the container (I thaw for 30 seconds in the microwave first) and blend in your Vita-Mix. (If you don’t have a vita-mix, you’ll probably have to thaw longer, but you can still get a yummy ice milk.)

This ice cream—when made with almond milk—has a very light texture (perfect for summer). For a creamier texture that’s more like real ice cream, try using at least 1/4c canned coconut milk (or maybe even creamer?). You can, of course, also sub other non-dairy milks for the almond. But if you do this, play around with the amount of vanilla extract, sweetener, and add-ins. (For example, an already-sweetened milk will probably need less added sweetener.) To make it look like real ice cream, see the “ice cream trick” link at the very bottom of this post.

  • Fat grams: 3
  • Sugar grams: 0

Day 11 Boulder Shoulders

I’m feeling pretty good. No sugar (besides fruit/natural sugars), no smoking, no processed BULLSHIT.

I’m going to do the 100 day no processed food challenge. =D

830am Had a protein shake (Myofusion, Natural Pb (INSTEAD of the pb2 this time), Almond Milk and More Ice then normally. Fucking Fantastic. Like a liquid Reeses.

930am Had to drive a customer home and got bored and had a Lara Bar (Apple Pie) handy. Was going to save it till 11am but I really wanted to try this flavor. LOL. I may no joke already be addicted to them. They only have (depending which flavor you get) like 5-6 ingredients. I had the chocolate chip cookie dough twice and I LOVED it. The apple pie one wasn’t bad, but still perfer the CCCD.

Just Ordered this variety pack (as I was JUST looking for a picture of the lara bars lol).. Actually pretty excited.

Nothing too exciting happening today. I have a mini banana I MIGHT eat in an hour or so. I also brought 2 lite laughing cow cheeses, my blackened chicken, and I have some left over steak (mini banana and 1 LC cheese gone 12:27pm).

&& I was checking out my lifting schedule to see what I have today and I ALREADY MESSED IT UP. It says I have back today but I did back tuesday.. LOL.. guess Ill be doing shoulders tonight haha.. so were just gonna switch this up a bit.

I’m going to focus on lifting heavy (I’m 12 weeks out early next week I believe and will continue to lift heavy for as long as possible. When you start depleting carbs your energy levels deplete as well and it takes a lot of energy to lift heavy. I’m also going to have to cut out using NINJA about 2-4 weeks out prior to the show).

But there are awesome recipes for sugar cookies chocolate chip cookies oatmeal cookies and to make your own lara bars, which I think is dope.

330pm I finished my chicken breast. I had it with BBQ (just enough to satisfy me). && I got a diet mt dew ❤ and I’m still fucking hungry and it was a big piece. I have no nuts, cheese, NOTHING.. so tea it is.. 😦

5pm Leave work, sit in traffic. Walk Marley.

6pm Made Ground Beef, Brown Rice, Broccoli, Cheese before my shoulder work out.

730pm SHOULDER WORK OUT

830-9pm  Home. Another protein shake or meal. And head to bed. Nothing exciting happened today.. cept I was looking at my butt, and its huge.. Not gonna lie. I suppose I’ll post a pic.

I had a pretty good shoulder work out.. Did everything besides the rear delt flye.. Planks hurt today but Im glad I’m getting better at them.

945pm Just laying in bed, relaxing. Thank God its friday tomorrow I love my weekends. I ‘m not on a schedule, don’t have an alarm to wake up too! It’s just a nice feeling. Will post some new recipes I found out, but I usually like to post about them when I actually cook them so maybe Ill get creative tomorrow.

Day 8 = Squats(x 100) + PB + Jelly

My diet was ALL OVER THE PLACE this weekend and I feel completely horrible. AS of RIGHT NOW.. (more so this morning)….

I NO LONGER EAT SUGAR!

(besides from my fruit that is.. i ❤ my green smoothies)

8:10am I made my mom and I,  green smoothies made with unsweetened almond milk instead of orange juice (less cals) and it still tasted the same. I realized that the L-carnitine (Ice t flavor) makes it kind of sour and I LOVE IT! and I just ran out so I will have to go to GNC today or tomorrow.

@work I was running around (buying bosses daughters gifts ) so I got a diet dr pepper at the gas station (tasted like shit so I only drank a little bit) and got gum to occupy me with (kinda worked) but when I got to work I had a laughing cow (which I AM IN LOVE WITH for some ODD ass reason. because I DO NOT eat cheese).. and a Sugar Free Red Bull (ol well 3g carbs).. ❤

1pm Ate chicken and cauliflower and broccoli (wasn’t appetizing so I didn’t take a pic).. and now I’m trying to catch up on the blogging shit and trying to drink my stomach cramps away..

YOU GOT IT! Pretty fucking excited actually. SQUATS SQUATS AND MORE SQUATS!… and some deadlifts.. and lunges.. and leg extensions and squats and some more lunges then end it with some squats .. lol.. 

4pm I have been hungry all day.. and I ate another babybel and have been drinking a shit ton of tea. I’ll eat the rest of the steak and veggies and hopefully I feel full.

7pm Drinking a protein shake before I go lift and making sweet potato fries for after. WHICH I’M PRETTY STOKED ABOUT. They. Are. Delicious.

Actually change of plans. Got home a lil late because I had to wait for Hertz (rental car) and they apparently didn’t rush or anything lol. So while I was waiting patiently, I was creeping hard on chocolate covered katie. I’m no doubt in love. So I found some cool recipes.. and when I got home I just got the ingredients together and walked marley in the mean time. When I got back I put the batter in the pan and started to bake it.

into two.

FYI the rest of this post is going to be centered because it won't let me start at the right...... LOL

Skinny Mini Jelly Roll Cake

(Serves 1-2)

  • 1/2 cup ww pastry flour, or white or spelt (70g) (For a gf version, use this: gluten-free option.)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 100g water or other liquid (That’s 1/3 cup plus 1 T plus 1 tsp)
  • 2 packets stevia or 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons applesauce or oil
  • 1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract

Combine all dry ingredients together. In a separate bowl, combine wet (including applesauce). Mix wet into dry, but don’t overmix. Pour into a greased 8-in circle pan or a rectangular pan. (Be sure to grease it very well, or the cake won’t come out.) Cook for 10 minutes in a NON-preheated oven at 420F. Let cool ten minutes before removing cake from pan. Then cut off all four edges so it forms a rectangle (if you used the circle pan). Spread on jam, or whatever else you wish, and roll it up. It’s that easy!

Her picture was better (:.. and the roll up just looks better lol.. But I think it would actually make sense to cut it into fourths, and making 2 PB and J sandwiches. My mom asked where hers was and I felt bad that I ATE THE WHOLE FUCKING THING. loll.. but I was about to go workout and needed the carbs lol.

Anyways Gym was great. Did over 150+ squats and lunges. WHOOP WHOOP! Took a bath in some kind of salt I don’t know how to spell and don’t wanna google it because I really wanna go to bed (even though I have the day off lol explain latah). But seriously Im so fucking tired and I have no idea why. OH and I made kale chips again but I added parmesan to them. They cooked differently but they were still good even though I added too much salt. Alright goodnight.
