Day 53 She’s afraid of being free

Suddenly..

She feels lost in her own life

So that was my day. The song lyrics just described everything I was feeling.. and I am at lost for words. Today was an overall good day. I missed a meal, and that was my own fault. Pushed hard during my workout, and feel the desire for greatness again… now lets see how long I can keep the flame burning. The pictures are of my trip to whole foods (1st picture besides the screen shot is my basket at one point, the one after that is added stuff), the third picture is my trip to Jewel (yes all in the same day), and then my meal after my workout 🙂 Pretty eventless day, lets say our prayers for a tomorrow..

Day 19 Obesity: The New Smoking!

I need to start writing down my thoughts more often because either A. I’m hilarious or B. I actually have a valid point..

Which moves me onto reading my sticky note on my iphone… should I write it verbatim? lol..  k.

Do it matters how someone does ubealthy foods heat diesel but want to cure cancer

lol.

And that explains a conversation I had with a co worker. I was driving him somewhere and a commerical came on about sugary drinks. When they all ordered sugar and the dude was like wtf yo and theyre like I’m not gonna eat the sugar, I’m going to drink it.. lol. I personally love it and actually makes SENSE PEOPLE AND DON’T.. how should I say it? SUGARCOAT IT??

haha.. anywho.. he was “pissed” because that money should be going towards curing cancer (which I actually believe it has been cured, and I actually think the government is no bueno lol), but it didn’t get me thinking till later that night.

I always get stopped on my way home on route 83 and there is a Culvers (FLAVOR OF THE DAY OMG!), Papa Johns (JUST SO HAPPENS TO BE MY FAVE) and a Mcdonalds all on the same intersection. So while I was sitting in the precense of all these fast food places I asked myself a qeustion (I actually talk to myself alot), and it was along the lines of:

  • Why does it matter what kind of illness or disease a person dies from?
  • Why does cancer make heart diease, stoke, or diabetes any different?
  • Is it because people who die from obesity, MAKE themselves sick?

The more I ask myself these questions, the more I think I’m asking myself how the world all began. It’s almost hopeless. The people who want change will seek it, the people who want free will and a stubborn attitude can eat their lives away.. literally.

Regardless, just because people are taxing sugary drinks doesn’t mean they are disappearing.. WHICH THEY SHOULD!!!!  we want to bitch about fat people yet provide the stuff that is causing the problem.  We are trying to save lives by curing cancer and healing the sick, when WHERE WE LIVE IS A REASON WHY SOME PEOPLE ARE SICK IN THE FIRST PLACE! We are providing the processed foods, the tobacco ext. We are KNOWINGLY ALLOWING people to get sick. There is PROOF these fast foods do damage, that these cigarettes take years off your life, but we ignore this why?  We live in a world where there is a Mcdonalds on every damn corner, where it’s faster to get a meal “made” then it is to go pee in the morning. I mean COME ON!

If you want to bitch about something make sure somewhere down the road you won’t walk into a huge contradiction.

:/ Honestly to each their own. From here on out, If you want to live unhealthy and ruin the only thing that is pure in this world go ahead. Be what you hate in this world. It’s the american thing to do.

It’s ( 1:09am), Still haven’t published this blog, but I’m glad I didn’t. I just posted a status about what I was talking about (obesity vs smoking) and it got so many people heated..People really got weird when I compared smoking to eating like shit.. The convo got to where they said how since smoking affects others around you that its worse then eating like shit.

I am going to paste some comments people posted:

Now i didnt do research on this.. but no food comes to mind that directly leads to cancer to the person consuming it.. nor the person sitting next to the person consuming it. so yeah.. this isnt comparing apples to apples here.

Like what the fuck.. I don’t understand how we got from comparing obesity and smoking, turned into smoking is so much worse because it effects more then just the user. IT DOESN’T MATTER! Just because it happens to kill others, doesn’t make it any less harmful to its user.

(1:42am) And now that I am STILL having a conversation regarding smoking and eating unhealthy, It is now a known fact that obesity will kill you faster then smoking will.. yeah. Unbelievable.

ARE WE GOING TO FINALLY UNDERSTAND NOW?

This isn’t a low carb diet, or a no food fad, this is a lifestyle that we selfishlessly LOST somewhere. We are addicted to the sugar, to the convienece, to a lazy lifestyle!

  • But just for the record, just like some smokers will always smoke, some people will just always eat unhealthy. 😦

Why do we think we can just sweep things under neath the rug and pretend they don’t exist?

Back to FRIDAY- Today has been so busy I have been all over the place… I actually think I am going to finish this blog tomorrow, because I cannot keep my eyes open and today was actually a pretty good day..

Told you I was super busy.. I also ate a Lara bar, this one was cashew cookie. I thought this one was gonna be good because I love cashews but um…… it tasted like a hotdog……weird? tell me about it……..

Decided not to go to the gym today.. I didn’t wanna stress out and I got home at 8pm and Im coming up with excuses now. I am doing legs tomorrow which I am SUPER excited about, then arms on sunday. Both with 30-35 min cardio each day.

It’s Friday & It’s Leg Day & I Love It.

I got to wake up an hour later, cuddle with Marley. I’m starting to think its the simple things in life that make it so great!

I made my green smoothie (Mango, Strawberry, Banana, Flax,Fiber,Kale,Almond Milk, OJ, Water, Ice). && about my smoothies, I need to go back to GNC to get the L-carnitine in the Ice T flavor. It MADE my smoothies and now I miss it.

Okay so onto my weekend plans. I have no weekend plans. Besides working out, obviously. But I DO have to study. NOT joking. I have a test Wed and I come home too late on the weekdays to study at night.

So onto  my food for today.. As I was driving here I actually looked at my Lara Bar’s and although they DO only have 4-5 ingredients, its still a little sugar and carbs for my liking. So. I’ll either save my Lara Bars for weekends, or need to control them. Because I love them and I can’t get enough. BUT ON A LIGHTER NOTE!!!!! I’m doing GREAT. The no processed foods is actually going pretty well. I’m pretty surprised actually. I have 1 redbull I’ll drink probably 1 or 2 diet sodas, I have an almond butter packet and MAYBE a lara bar for snacks ( I was excited to have the Lara bar because its chocolate coconut mmmmmm), but I have the rest of last nights dinner (ground beef, brown rice, and broccoli) for my 2 meals at work today.

Look what I just found. :(:( I guess technically I’m not “no processed”

😦 FINE STARTING MONDAY NOTHING BUT WATER AND TEA. AWESOME. just AWESOME. 😦

BOOTY WERK

I think since I’m doing legs 2x a week, my focus on Monday will mainly be Quads, and Friday’s leg day will be Hamstrings.. Both will focus on calves. For example:

Monday:

  • Squats
  • Lunges
  • Back Ext (focus on hams)
  • Leg Ext
  • Leg Press

Friday:

  • Deadlifts
  • Squats (light)
  • Lunges
  • Step Ups
  • Leg Ext (end with these, go heavy)

Like my squats on Monday will be HELLA different then my squats on Friday. Understand? lol.

So I just realized that I may not do BBH this year with Nikki…. 😦 (I’ll post a pic of Nikki and I later when I get home), but that’s really disappointing.. More so because no one told us and they posted pics on their FB of another girl.. LOL.. oh okay….  kinda funny though people are posting that they don’t care because its not Nikki or I. 😦 awwwww…. well.. It was a GREAT 2 years BIG BUCK!

2pm AND I’M JUST NOW EATING!!!! WHAT THE FUCK! I should be having my 3rd meal in an hour not my second. AND I couldn’t find the fucking Lara Bar.. obv I wasn’t meant to eat it today. lol.. So eating a portion of the leftovers and will eat again as soon as I get home.

3:17pm Food was awesome. I was still hungry though, so I’m now eating Justin’s Classic Almond Butter (190 cals) for a “snack”. Also comes in chocolate, honey, and classic. All are AWESOME.

&& QUICK UPDATE:

So.. some “drama” occurred regarding Big Buck Hunter…… Nikki has been sending me convo’s back and forth between her and Dave and something fishy is going on. It wasn’t a definite NO.. but it sure as fuck wasn’t a “yes” regarding whether or not Nikki and I are doing BBH this year :/ which isn’t SO bad.. lol I’m staying positive. My thoughts are either they,

  1. Don’t want any drama (Nikki and I are pretty popular with dem boys, LOL!)
  2. We will be used, but not as much (we get flown everywhere, maybe they are cutting costs).
  3. We still have our job.
  4. They don’t know how to tell us?
  5. They really don’t know?

Regardless of the outcome, I had a BLAST. It was a really cool experience and if I don’t continue, I hope to do something similar. Even though we had a pretty good set up going.. (flown to different states to get paid to party with your best friend?.. yeah. amazing).

530pm I finished the leftovers I had for lunch, and then had Justin’s almond butter for a snack on the way home. I took Marley out and waited for my mom to get home.

715pm I headed to the gym. READY TO FUCKING LIFT! My routine looked a little like this:

Started off with Deadlifts

  • Set 1: 50lbs x 12
  • Set 2: 50lbs x 10
  • Set 3: 60lbs x 10
  • Set 4: 7olbs x 8

But in between each set I did Back ext for 8 to 10 reps.

After deadlifting (which I could of gone heavier, but these kids already took the weight off when I returned). I did Step ups.

It’s literally how it sounds. I have 40lbs (20lbs in each hand) and did each leg 2×10 reps each.

Legs were getting a little wobbly at this point, but was excited for lunges.

Lunges were:

  • Set 1: 40lbs x 25
  • Set 2: 30lbs x25
  • Set 3: BW x 25
  • Set 4: 40lbs x 12
  • Set 5: 30lbs x 12
  • Set 6: BW x 12

I did 4 sets of these abductions adduction machines and followed with Leg Extensions:

  • Set 1: 65lbs x 12
  • Set 2: 80lbs x 12
  • Set 3: 95lbs x 9
  • Set 4: 110lbs x 8

I didn’t do lunges or planks. I was litterally shaking.. and now I’m exhausted. I made a protein shake with myofusion and pb2. I was GOING to make cauliflower pizza, but as I was cutting the cauliflower I decided I wasn’t in the mood lol. So tomorrow I will make blueberry muffins for breakfast (maybe with a ALIVE! green pea smoothie) and the cauliflower pizza. I’m really excited, Sunday I’m going to spend all day making cool dishes. Makes your lifestyle easier when you know how to prepare the foods.

Day 5 Cauliflower Pizza Recipe

9:30am– I switched up my shake for ya’ll. Had the chocolate protein with blueberries and blackberries, flax and fiber. I added more ice to make it colder and it was a little thicker then usual but it was great. I drank the entire shake in about 15 minutes (:

Today I didn’t start work till 10am, so I laid in bed with Marley a little later. I got ready, started driving and realized I had no wallet when my gas light came on as I was turning on the highway.. I then got stopped by a train and finally a few lights later I actually made it to work. Regardless of driving a jeep, 80mph on the highway for 20 miles then another 5-6 miles I made it lol.. phew.. but now I don’t know what I’m going to do because I’m bone dry and moneyless haha .. I’ll figure it out later.. :/

12pm-1pm I’m going to eat 2 Jamie Eason’s Turkey Meat”balls” for lunch. I’ve been drinking COFFEE and I DO NOT drink coffee.. I’m drinking it black with 3 equals to keep my hands busy BECAUSE I AM STARVVVVINNNNNG (yes this is obviously BEFORE I ate lunch lol)

4pm I made steak and veggies last night (DON’T BE SCARED OF RED MEAT PLEASE). I use the steamers in the frozen veggie is because it is So fucking convenient. In most cases you actually get more nutrients via frozen (: Not to mention 1 bag is like 2 meals for me and it takes about 7 minutes to steam and 1 or 2 buttons to push haha.

**BTW My workout schedule has been messed up this week, but it will be the same as what I posted on Day 4 (yesterdays post).. I SHOULD be doing legs today (but since I did them yesterday, obv I wont be doing them today), but today I am actually taking off.. I am INCREDIBLY tired for some odd ass reason. I also really wanna finish my laundry and cleaning tonight. BUT I will post a back workout for all you, or what I would of done (if I just flip flopped the two training days).**

Back is another one of my favorite workouts of the week. When I was training 2 years ago for figure (I know do bikini, WHICH IS SO DIFFERENT), I focused A LOT of back. It can really change how your body looks (v taper, lats, smaller waist, broader shoulders). It overall looks awesome when a girl has a defined back =D.. So here is a basic back workout.. again GOOGLE GOOGLE GOOGLE!!!!! It will be your best friend. Google the SHIT out of fitness and programs and mold them to fit you..

Pullup   

For the most part these are the basic back workouts I complete.

(I don’t normally do deadlift because I did it last night for hamstrings).

Pull Up– Standard dead-hang pull up is grasped with an overhand/underhand/alternative-hand grip.

Then the body is pulled up until the chin clears the bar, and finished by lowering the body until arms and shoulders are fully extended.

Back Raise– Hook your feet under the leg anchor of a back-machine station.
With your upper thighs on the pad and your hands behind your head, initiate the move by forcefully squeezing your glutes, and then bend forward at the hips until your upper body is almost perpendicular to the floor.
Without swinging your shoulders, raise your torso until it’s in line with your lower body.

Inverted Row– Lay on back under fixed horizontal bar. Grasp bar with wide overhand grip.Keeping body straight, pull body up to bar. Return until arms are extended and shoulders are stretched forward. Repeat.

Lat Pulldown– Using a wide bar, hold it with a wide comfortable grip, while putting your knees underneath the pad. Pull the bar down smoothly until it touches the top of your chest. Now extend your arms back to the top.

There are several other smaller muscles in the back, all of which will be developed by performing exercises that work the three main back muscles.

7-730pm It’s snowing and traffic was a dumb bitch.. but for some reason I had a super burst of energy and had cauliflower on the mind.. you know who did that……….pinterest…….. lol. Anyways I decided I wanted to finally make CAULIFLOWER PIZZA, and all I have to say is A M A Z I N G. It could not have been better. It wasn’t that big but my mom and I ate the entire thing.. SUPER FUCKING EXCITED !!

cauliflower crust pizza

Yield: One 9 to 12-inch pizza (feeds 2 to 3 people)

Prep Time: 25 min

Cook Time: 18 min

Ingredients:

CRUST:
1/2 LARGE head cauliflower (or 2+ cups shredded cauliflower)
1 large egg
1 cup finely shredded mozzarella cheese (or try another kind!)
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon dried minced garlic (or fresh garlic)
1/2 teaspoon onion salt

Toppings:

Whatever your little heart desires. I used cheese and tomatoes (and 1/2 of it had tomato paste).

Directions:

1. Shred the cauliflower into small crumbles. You can use the food processor if you’d like, but you just want crumbles, not puree. You’ll need a total of about 2 cups or so of cauliflower crumbles (which is about half a large head of cauliflower. Place the cauliflower crumbles in a large bowl and microwave them (dry) for 8 minutes. Give the cauliflower a chance to cool.

2. Prepare the crust: Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F. Spray a cookie sheet or pizza pan with nonstick spray (or use a nonstick surface). In a medium bowl, mix the cauliflower crumbles (about 1 1/2 cups since they shrink after cooking) with the remaining crust ingredients. Pat the “crust” into a 9 to 12-inch round on the prepared pan. Spray the crust lightly with nonstick spray and bake for 15 minutes (or until golden). Remove the crust from the oven and turn the heat up to broil.

3. Prepare the pizza: Spread the sauce on top of the baked crust, leaving a 1/2-inch border around the edge. Sprinkle 1/4 cup cheese on top. Add the bacon and pineapple, spreading it out around the pizza. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top. Broil the pizza 3 to 4 minutes, or until the toppings are hot and the cheese is melted and bubbly. Cut into 6 slices and serve immediately.

1030pm I AM SO FULL. So like I said I am pretty excited about the outcome of the pizza. My mom enjoyed it quite a bit and its hard to get her to eat.. She even asked for there recipe and wasn’t kidding either. LOL she’s a really good cook and Im excited she liked it.. The worst part was cutting the cauliflower but other then that it was simple. Any who I snacked a bit when was making this because I was go hungry.. I had 2 turkey meatballs and some peanut butter. Then I had about a 1/2c cranberries …. :(:(:(:(:(:( Extra cardio tomorrow anyone? Lol. My eyelids are getting heavy  so I should hurry up.. Cant wait to sleep in ❤
